Foam Brick (next time it’s a real one)  Standard Shipping

What?
“Foam Brick” enters the recipients house through the letterbox instead of through the window.

Historically, bricks are thrown through windows as a form of protest. Foam Brick transforms this symbol of strength into something harmless. It comes vacuum-sealed in a cardboard box and expands upon arrival.

It shows us how traditional forms of resistance can often feel powerless and ineffective. It also offers protesters-to-be an accessible way to get used to sending threats to organisations.

Created with polyurethane foam, acrylic paint.

About the project
I was asked to create a design for Standard Shipping: a  challenge where products are created that will fit in standard shipping boxes which fit through a letter box.

The idea of the challenge was to make participating in design festivals more accessible by avoiding expensive shipping costs as well as using smaller event foot print.
